Introduction

Use independent records if you do not want your records to be linked together on the blockchain.

Independent records (just called records in this document) have no explicit relationship to any other records on the blockchain. You can, of course, maintain linkage information within your own applications and records.

Independent records provide the following capabilities:

  • Approximate event timestamps (+/- 10 minutes)

  • Independence

  • Persistence

  • Data security

  • Evidence of and verification of records

An independent record is written to the blockchain inside a transaction.
