The Verify record † operation enables you to get nChain Event to verify whether the local copy of your record matches the one at the link location on the blockchain. It provides proof of what was written to the blockchain and when.
Anyone who has a copy of the original record and the link location on the blockchain can find out whether there is any discrepancy.
The result will be a verification report which states one of the following:
The record and link location do match the blockchain
The record and link location do not match (implying a discrepancy)
The record or link location are unknown (retry later)
If there is a discrepancy, this is a good indication that the local record has become altered or corrupted and must be recovered from its backup.
If the record or link location appear to be in error, retry later. If the issue persists for an hour or more, it looks like there is a serious issue with your processes or data, which should be investigated.
